A journey as a travel photographer, capturing thousands of incredible photos with my all-time favorite, the Nikon D810.

Taking amazing photos with Nikon D810 DSLR. A complete blog post on why Nikon D810 is still an amazing Camera.

How did I end up buying Nikon D810?

I can still clearly recall two of my good friends Ammar, from Pakistan, and Garenk, from Indonesia, suggesting that I get a Nikon D810. They both assured me that I wouldn't regret making this choice, and I can now confirm that their advice was spot on.

Back in 2016, I had a Nikon D7000, a decent little crop sensor DSLR camera that I frequently used. At that moment in my life, I knew nothing about what a camera could achieve. I bought it on the basis of this gorgeous machine's great market repute. I have currently taken almost 75000 photos with it, and I really doubt that I will ever sell it.

Introduction - NIKON D810

Full-frame DSLR camera the Nikon D810 has received a lot of accolades for its superb image quality and advanced level of control. This camera, which features a 36.3-megapixel sensor and a sophisticated autofocus mechanism, is a favorite of professionals who require the highest levels of image quality and performance.

Build Quality of Nikon D810

The build quality of the Nikon D810 is among its most outstanding features. The camera's body is built to last and is weather-sealed so it can survive even the worst situations. This makes it the perfect option for photographers who routinely operate in difficult circumstances, like bad weather or extremely hot or cold conditions.

In the past six years, despite the fact that I have used this camera in a variety of weather conditions, it has maintained its appearance and functionality from day one. The Nikon D810 shares a complete magnesium-alloy frame with its predecessors, which is still the best choice for many professional cameras. The LED screen is fixed, which is a drawback. I believe that this incredible camera would benefit much from having a slanted screen like the Nikon D750, but in many situations, it is ineffective.

Award winning Camera

The TIPA award for best professional DSLR camera in 2014 and the EISA award for best professional DSLR camera in 2014-2015 are just two of the honors the Nikon D810 has previously won. This demonstrates the camera's remarkable performance and image quality and gives no doubt as to why it is so well-liked by seasoned photographers.

Technical Specifications

The Nikon D810's 36.3-megapixel sensor, which can capture exceptionally detailed and high-resolution photographs, is one of its many primary features. The camera also features a large selection of autofocus points, enabling accurate and precise focus even in difficult lighting circumstances. The camera also offers a high-speed continuous shooting option that makes it simple to capture quickly moving action.

Furthermore, it offers bulb mode, which is a crucial feature for landscape photographers, a minimum ISO of 64 up to 12800, shutter speeds of 1/8000 to 30 s in stages of 1/3, and so forth. Few people are aware that the Nikon D810 has additional modes in addition to Standard, including Neutral, Vivid, Monochrome, Portrait, and Landscape.

Image Quality of Nikon D810

The Nikon D810 is unmatched in terms of image quality. Even in poor lighting condition and higher ISO, the camera can produce photographs that are exceptionally sharp and detailed. Wide dynamic range of the camera makes it possible to take pictures with a variety of brightness levels, which is perfect for landscape and travel photography. A huge, detailed image that can be printed at a very large size without losing quality can be captured thanks to the camera's high resolution sensor.

You must be comparing its sensor to newly released full-frame cameras, but let me remind you that the Nikon D810 was at the top of the list at the time and can still compete with any full-frame camera today.

Landscape Photography

When it comes to landscape photography, the Nikon D810 is an ideal choice. The camera's high resolution sensor and wide dynamic range allow for capturing incredibly detailed and beautiful images of landscapes, including mountains, oceans, and forests. Additionally, the camera's advanced autofocus system allows for capturing sharp and accurate images of landscapes with ease.

Portrait Photography

For portrait photography, the Nikon D810 is also an excellent choice. The camera's high resolution sensor allows for capturing incredibly detailed and natural-looking images of people, while the camera's advanced autofocus system allows for capturing sharp and accurate images of people with ease. Additionally, the camera's wide dynamic range allows for capturing images with a wide range of brightness levels, which is ideal for capturing detailed images of people in challenging lighting conditions.

Travel Photography

In terms of travel photography, the Nikon D810 is also an excellent choice. The camera's high resolution sensor allows for capturing incredibly detailed and beautiful images of landscapes and people in various locations and under different circumstances around the world. Additionally, the camera's advanced autofocus system allows for capturing sharp and accurate images of people and landscapes with ease.

With Nikon D810, Point and shoot teachnique works very reliably but the only issue is the weight of DSLRs and usually DSLR lenses are heavy too and thats the exact reason why people are into Mirrorless cameras. I am personally still fine with its weight and size because at the end the image quality is totally unpaarallel.

Summary

Overall, the Nikon D810 is an exceptional camera that offers a high level of control and image quality. Its high resolution sensor, advanced autofocus system, and wide dynamic range make it perfect for landscape, portrait, and travel photography. Additionally, the camera's build quality and weather-sealed body make it ideal for photographers who frequently work in challenging environments. With its numerous awards and its exceptional performance, the Nikon D810 is a camera that is sure to impress professional photographers and photography enthusiasts alike.

I am fully aware that world has moved on to Mirrorless Cameras and I personally like them too but that doesn’t mean you should stop using old cameras. DSLRs are still doing the pretty much the same job without making you invest more money in your gear.

I believe in travelling rather spending in Camera Gears. Let me know what you believe in :)
